Nina Harjula

Nina is a development manager of the Finnish Cleantech Cluster. She collaborates with the international business development team and four regional competence centres. Nina also runs the EcoCluP project which is a cooperation of 13 Cleantech Clusters from 10 European countries. Nina has 15 years of experience from various business development and marketing management positions. Her career has mainly been in corporate level branding and strategy projects. She also owns a consultancy company AD Priori which concentrates on finding business opportunities for Finnish environmental companies in India.


Christian Hauselmann

Christian Haeuselmann is an innovation-driven Swiss economist and serial entrepreneur. Christian has 20 years of experience in the Cleantech sector, both with start-ups and global organizations. Today he lives in San Diego/California developing strategic partnerships between Swiss and US Cleantech entrepreneurs, as the co- founder of swisscleantech. swisscleantech is the business association driving innovation and sustainable policy development in Switzerland. In 2010 he co-founded the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA), driving collaboration among 20+ global Cleantech clusters. In 1996 he won the young entrepreneur award for his first start-up company BKTech and the development and market introduction of the powerful FLYER electric bike. The FLYER electric bike defined a new vehicle category in Switzerland and Europe. He got his MS in Business Administration at the University of Berne/Switzerland.

Shawn Lesser

Shawn has over sixteen years experience in international equity sales with a focus on Europe. Prior to co- founding Watershed Capital Group, Shawn founded the investment bank, Sustainable World Capital, which assists cleantech companies raise capital from European institutional investors. Shawn has been Co-Head and Managing Director of the international equity teams at Morgan Keegan and at NBA Deutsche Bank. He received his BS in Finance from Syracuse University. Shawn has traveled extensively in Europe and is conversational in both German and Spanish. He is co-founder of the non-profit the Global Cleantech Cluster Association which is committed to the global commercialization of the best-in-class clean technologies. He writes for various cleantech publications and is known as the David Letterman of Cleantech for his “Top 10″ series.


Lisa Ann Pinkerton
Technica Communications

From the newsroom to the boardroom, Lisa Ann has used her keen analytical skills to share technology stories with the world for over a decade.  She is Founder and President of Technica Communications and Founder of the networking group Women In Cleantech & Sustainability. Technica Communications specializes in public relations, website content, promotional videos, social media campaigns and other marketing activities for cleantech, health care and internet companies. With Technica, Lisa Ann leads companies through the web of new and traditional media with targeted messaging that bolsters business goals.

As a former award-winning journalist, Lisa Ann acutely understands what motivates many journalists, in particular how they think, and she is routinely able to turn those insights into top-tier coverage. Women in Cleantech & Sustainability is a professional networking group based in the San Francisco Bay Area. From the entry level to the executive level, WC&S supports women in the advancement of their career goals with educational panels and workshops related to a wide variety of cleantech and sustainability topics.  Before founding Technica, Lisa Ann was a Senior Account Executive and managed new business operations for the San Francisco PR firm Antenna Group.  She got her start as a broadcast journalist in 2001. Her work has been broadcast on National Public Radio, PBS Television, WPXI-NBC, American Public Media, The Environment Report, Great Lakes Radio Consortium, Free Speech TV, WYEP 91.3FM-Pittsburgh, WRCT 88.3FM-Pittsburgh, and WCPN/WVIZ PBS ideastream in Cleveland.


Ben Taube
President of BLT Sustainable Energy
Ben Taube is the President of BLT Sustainable Energy, Inc. Ben has many years of working with the public and private sector at the local, state, and federal levels. Ben has spent many years of his career working across the globe on behalf of many cleantech companies. Ben Taube also serves as a Senior Vice President for Evaporcool LLC, partner of Consensus Energy, and the current Executive Director as well as a Senior Strategic Advisor of the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA) which is a nonprofit headquartered in Atlanta, GA with a mission to deploy energy efficiency across 11 southeast States. The organization is comprised of public and private interests. Prior to becoming the Executive Director of the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, Ben served as the Public Affairs Manager for the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute where he was responsible for planning, coordinating, and communicating GREENGUARD’s activities, capabilities, goals, and priorities to a variety of audiences. Ben also worked as the Director of Government Affairs for EcoSMART Technologies. Ben also served as the Environmental Manager for the City of Atlanta with the responsibilities of developing and enhancing environmental initiatives and policy. Ben was recently awarded the 2011 Atlanta Business Chronicle Environmental Emerging Leader Award. Mr. Taube has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Memphis and a Masters in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver.


Peter Adriaens, PhD, PE, BCEEM
Ross School of Business, University of Michigan

Dr. Adriaens is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy in the Ross School of Business, where he serves as CleanTech Director to the Wolverine Venture Fund of the University of Michigan. He is past-President of the Association of Environmental Science and Engineering Professors, and a member-by-eminence of the American Academy of Environmental Engineering.

Following a 20-year career focused on validating laboratory-based bioremediation, environmental sensing and green building technologies in the field, his current work focuses on CleanTech innovation and entrepreneurship. He teaches courses on Business Models, Entrepreneurial Business Fundamentals, CleanTech Venture Assessment, and Sustainability Finance. He is co-developer of the KeyStone Compact™, a business analytical and strategic positioning tool that has been applied on more than 400 global early and later stage CleanTech companies in North America, Asia, and Europe.

He founded Global CleanTech LLC, and is Director of Asian Operations at LimnoTech, an environmental services firm focused on energy-water nexus issues in the US and China. He is Director at CleanTech Acceleration Partners, a business services firm, and Head Judge of the Global CleanTech Custer Association (GCCA), focused on open innovation and economic development by screening, repositioning and connecting best in class Cleantech clusters and companies.
